Kaelum Neville, Newbury Dog Trainer

Hello, my name’s Kaelum. I’m a professional dog training and behaviour consultant.

I practice in West Berkshire, supporting owners and their dogs across Newbury and the surrounding. I have experience working with a wide range of breeds, ages and backgrounds, including puppy training, general obedience, rescue dogs and more challenging problem behaviours.

I am passionate about helping people better understand their dogs and build strong, lasting relationships through clear, ethical training. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing that moment when training clicks into place for both dog and owner.

A welfare-first approach and positive, force-free dog training sits at the heart of everything I do. I trained with and am a proud member of the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), meaning my methods and knowledge meet a robust, ethical industry standard. My training and behaviour approach is evidence-based, which means I keep updated with the latest peer-reviewed research into canine behaviour and welfare, and integrate it into my practice.

I actively reject outdated methods which have been consistently disproven by modern research, so my work will never involve the use of pain, fear, punishment or any equipment designed to harm a dog. I use a whole-dog approach in my work - looking at the big picture that makes up a dog’s behaviour and learning:

  • helping the human guardians understand their dog’s communication and motivation

  • ensuring a dog’s species-specific and breed-specific needs are understood and met in the best ways

  • taking into account lifestyle, daily routine, health and wellbeing

  • teaching in a way that builds trust, confidence and safety

If you are looking for supportive, professional dog training in Newbury or the surrounding Berkshire areas, I look forward to helping you and your dog on your training journey.
